You can use GIF, JPEG, and PNG formats for your images and creative in the self-serve advertising platform. The maximum weight allowed for each format is 1 Megabyte. Here’s what you need to know about each format:
- PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a lossless compression format that supports millions of colors and also has a transparent background feature. PNGs are often used for logos, icons, and images that require a transparent background.
- JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a lossy compression format ideal for photographs and complex images with smooth color gradients. It supports millions of colors.
- GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) supports both animated and static images, limited to 256 colors, and has a transparent background feature. We recommend avoiding the use of GIF format for your images and creative, if possible. Although GIFs can be used for both animated and static images and have a transparent background feature, they are limited to 256 colors and can have a larger file size than other formats, which can affect the loading time of your ads. Instead, we suggest using JPEG or PNG formats, depending on your image and creative needs.
